How Are Teeth Prepared for Veneers?

The porcelain veneers procedure involves multiple steps and can be completed in two visits to our office. During your first appointment, we'll prepare your teeth by removing a small portion of the enamel. This makes room for the veneers and ensures that they fit correctly. A mold of your teeth is taken and sent to a dental laboratory that creates custom-made veneers.

It may take a few weeks to create your veneers, so the dentist will apply temporary veneers to your teeth. After your veneers are ready, we'll remove the temporary veneers and attach the permanent veneers to your teeth with a special type of dental adhesive. Finally, the dentist uses ultraviolet light to bond the veneers to your teeth.

How Long Do Veneers Last?

Strength and durability are some of the main benefits of porcelain teeth. With proper care, it's possible for porcelain dental veneers to last for 10 to 15 years. To ensure that your veneers look beautiful for years to come, you should brush and floss every day and see your dentist regularly for cleanings and exams.
